Sim os The Killers são a banda que criou uma das maiores odes ao Indie a musica "Glamorous Indie Rock & Roll" no album Hot Fuse.
Mas se esperam que Sam's Town seja uma continuação de Hot Fuse desenganem-se pois os The Killers já não são a banda de Hot Fuse.
O Rock energético com sintetizadores à mistura desapareceu para dar lugar a uma versão mais americanizada do seu som.
Brandon Flowers afirma ter ido buscar a sua inspiração para este segundo album a Bruce Springsteen, a verdade é que este segundo album não possui a mesma essência de Hot Fuse fugindo à imaturidade e enverdando por caminhos mais mainstream.
O actual album peca por falta de energia e força que o primeiro possuia.
Brandon Flower numa entrevista recente à Blitz afirmou "Nunca acreditámos no rock independente, desconfio da filosofia indie que diz "Oh, nós não queremos ser grandes".
Talvez o problema deste album seja a falta de espirito Indie.
